AWI has published the second revision of its popular Guiding Principles for Conducting Workplace Investigations. Hard copies of this pamphlet are available without charge by emailing email@example.com. Specify your name and mailing address and the number of copies requested, up to 75.
The Guiding Principles were developed under the leadership of AWI's Guiding Principles Committee, which was established at the founding meeting of AWI's Board of Directors. The Guiding Principles were originally published on September 25, 2012, the third anniversary of that founding meeting.
In March, 2010, the committee conducted three full-day roundtables, in which 85 of AWI's 100 Charter Members participated, to gather the information which forms the basis of the Guiding Principles. Over the next two and one-half years, the Committee synthesized that information and prepared drafts of the Guiding Principles which were reviewed by the Committee, the Board, and ultimately the entire AWI membership.
The first revision of the Guiding Principles was based on numerous revisions submitted by AWI members. Again the committee prepared drafts, and the first revision was approved by the Board. The second revision added the Canadian Association of Workplace Investigators (CAWI) name and logo, added the last sentence to footnote 2 about CAWI, and updated the AWI membership to approximately 500.
AWI believes that the publication and revisions of these Guiding Principles will enhance the quality of impartial workplace investigations.
